Best time to visit?

Dry season from June to October and Monsoon season from November to May

How to get there?

Fly to Dar es Salaam international airport, and then fly with Coastal Aviation. This airline flies to all major safari parks or game drives. I took the zanzibar route directly to Arusha, and then flew again to Lake Manyara.

With this airline it is necessary to take into account the size of the luggage. As the planes are of low altitude, they are small and carry few people, and little load. The preference is for bags that are flexible, and that meet the size requirements that they require (otherwise, the luggage will not board!).

How to get around in Tanzania?

When we land at the airport there is a huge confusion, so we recommend that transfers between the airport and accommodation are already handled.

National Parks and Game Drives

Serengeti National Park which has almost 15 thousand kilometers of plains, wooded savannas and forests. Famous for the annual migrations of wildebeests, zebras and gazelles that take place from May to June. The Park is home to more than 35 species of large mammals in addition to more than 500 species of birds.

Kilimanjaro National Park, which houses the highest volcano in Africa, Kilimanjaro, composed of three dormant volcanoes, the Kibo with 5,895 meters of altitude, the Mawenzi with 5,149 meters, and the Shira of 3,962 meters. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Climb Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa.

Reserva Ngorongoro Crater, the volcanic crater twenty kilometers in diameter located at 2,286 meters above sea level that houses a wide variety of fauna, elephants, wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, rhinos, black maned lions, pelicans and many other animals.

The Maasai are a tribe that inhabits the African Great Lakes region and arrived in Tanzania – as it appears – from present day South Sudan.
